Shipping jewellery and hats from China in 2026: cost per order to the US, UK, Canada and Germany

A 0.1 kg jewellery order shipped straight from China costs about USD 6 to the US, GBP 2.70 to the UK, CAD 6.81 to Canada and EUR 4.23 to Germany. Hats are bulky but light, and China-direct lanes bill on actual weight, so a 0.3 kg boxed hat costs about USD 8.89 to the US. Prices by weight, what they leave out, and what to check first.

How are small accessories priced when they ship from China?

China-direct parcels are billed on actual weight: a freight rate per kilogram plus a per-parcel fee, both set by weight band, with fuel included. There is a minimum chargeable weight of 0.03 kg to the US and 0.05 kg on the other general-goods lanes, so a pair of earrings in a pouch is charged at that minimum. Volumetric weight is not used. The prices below come from the September 2026 lane cards through the calculator on this site, checked on 3 November 2026.

What does a jewellery order cost?

United States (economy 6–12 working days / standard 5–8 working days): 0.05 kg USD 5.04 / 5.81. 0.1 kg USD 6.04 / 6.83. 0.2 kg USD 7.56 / 8.97. 0.3 kg USD 8.89 / 11.20.

United Kingdom (economy 6–10 working days / priority 3–5 working days): 0.05 kg GBP 2.42 / 2.47. 0.1 kg GBP 2.70 / 2.79. 0.2 kg GBP 3.25 / 3.44. 0.3 kg GBP 3.81 / 4.08.

Canada (economy 7–9 working days): 0.05 kg CAD 6.06. 0.1 kg CAD 6.81. 0.2 kg CAD 8.38. 0.3 kg CAD 9.91.

Germany (economy 6–10 working days / standard 5–8 working days): 0.05 kg EUR 3.85 / 4.31. 0.1 kg EUR 4.23 / 4.77. 0.2 kg EUR 4.87 / 5.67. 0.3 kg EUR 5.65 / 6.58.

At these weights most of the price is the per-parcel fee. Going from 0.05 kg to 0.1 kg adds about USD 1 to the US and GBP 0.28 to the UK, so an extra piece in the same order costs very little to ship. A gift box adds weight, which is the only way it changes the price.

What does a hat cost, and does the box size matter?

A hat is light but takes up space. Because China-direct lanes bill on actual weight, a boxed hat of about 0.3 kg in a 38 × 38 × 16 cm box costs the same as any other 0.3 kg parcel, and that box is inside the normal parcel size. Many express couriers price by volumetric weight instead, commonly length × width × height ÷ 5,000; on that basis the same box would be charged as about 4.6 kg.

Boxed hat at 0.3 kg: US USD 8.89 economy / 11.20 standard, UK GBP 3.81 / 4.08, Canada CAD 9.91, Germany EUR 5.65 / 6.58. At 0.5 kg: US USD 12.48 / 16.74, UK GBP 5.08 / 5.48, Canada CAD 13.30, Germany EUR 7.06 / 8.39.

What should I check before shipping jewellery or hats?

Declare the real value of the goods; taxes and fines caused by under-declaration are paid by the sender. High-value pieces and anything with a battery, such as smart jewellery or light-up hats, are confirmed per product before they ship. Import duty and tax are separate from logistics: the US suspended its duty-free de minimis exemption on 29 August 2025, the UK charges VAT on low-value imports, and the EU added a EUR 3 duty on low-value parcels in July 2026 and a EUR 2 handling fee per declared line from 1 November 2026. Each different product on one declaration can count as a separate line, so keep declarations simple and accurate.

What is not in these prices?

China warehouse handling (receiving, storage, pick and pack, gift wrapping if you want it) is confirmed on the formal quote and is not in the parcel price. Duty and tax are quoted separately from logistics.

How do I get a price for my own orders?

Use the calculator on the route page for each country: enter the packed weight, the box size and general goods, and it shows every China-direct lane with its transit time. The figures are reference prices from the published cards; the formal quote takes precedence and adds warehouse handling.
