Customs and compliance

Prepare the product, declaration and responsibility boundary before dispatch.

ShopRest provides compliant declaration coordination with the warehouse, carrier and appointed declaration parties. The merchant supplies the product name, quantity, declared value, HS code and manufacturer; ShopRest prepares and submits the declaration. Supported routes can also include duty and tax payment or advance-payment service.

What is checked before a route is confirmed

Requirements depend on the product, origin, value, destination, sales model and rule in force.

Product and route eligibility

ShopRest uses the declared product information to check the available logistics products and destination restrictions.

  • Product name and HS code
  • Lane and destination restrictions
  • Supported route confirmed before dispatch

Compliant declaration service

The merchant provides five declaration fields. ShopRest checks, prepares and submits the compliant declaration through the appointed declaration party.

  • Product name and quantity
  • Declared value and HS code
  • Manufacturer information

Tax registration and payment service

GST, VAT, IOSS and marketplace collection are confirmed for the destination and sales model. On supported routes, ShopRest coordinates duty and tax payment or advance payment through the appointed declaration partner, so the merchant does not need to operate separate cross-border payment channels.

  • Seller, marketplace or recipient tax position
  • IOSS or other registration where applicable
  • Duty, tax and payment-service fees shown separately

Exception follow-up

If customs asks for information, the service team coordinates the request across the merchant, carrier and declaration party. Release timing follows the authority’s processing.

  • Document or value query
  • Inspection and restricted-goods query
  • Release, return or other instructed outcome

Responsibility boundaries

The formal quote and shipping instruction identify the responsible party for each route.

  • The merchant is responsible for the accuracy of the product name, quantity, declared value, HS code and manufacturer information
  • ShopRest prepares and coordinates the compliant declaration from the supplied information
  • Duty, VAT, GST and IOSS treatment follows the destination, transaction and sales model
  • Customs authorities control inspection and release timing
  • Prohibited, controlled or incorrectly described goods are not accepted
  • Importer, exporter and tax-representative roles require an explicit signed arrangement

From SKU data to customs release

The responsible party is stated at each stage instead of being hidden inside a freight total.

Confirmed on the formal quote or shipping instruction

  • Export and import declaration party for the selected route
  • Whether ShopRest can arrange duty, VAT or GST payment or advance payment for the selected route
  • Tax amount, settlement currency, payer and any payment-service or advancement fee
  • The five merchant-supplied declaration fields
  • Whether the route price includes declaration work or lists it separately
  • The process for a customs information request, inspection, return or abandonment instruction
