Shipping shoes from China in 2026: cost per pair to the US, UK, Canada and Germany
A boxed pair of shoes shipped straight from China costs about USD 20 to the US, GBP 8 to the UK, CAD 21 to Canada and EUR 11 to Germany at 1 kg, billed on actual weight so the shoe box adds no size charge. Here are prices from 0.6 kg to two pairs, what they leave out, and how to bring the cost per pair down.

How is a pair of shoes priced when it ships from China?
China-direct parcels are billed on actual weight: a freight rate per kilogram plus a per-parcel fee, both set by weight band, with fuel included. Volumetric weight is not used on these lanes, so a shoe box costs you only what it weighs. A standard shoe box of about 33 × 22 × 12 cm is well inside the normal parcel size. The prices below come from the September 2026 lane cards through the calculator on this site, checked on 3 November 2026.
What does one pair cost to ship?
Typical packed weights: flats or sandals in a dust bag about 0.6 kg, heels or loafers in a box about 0.8 kg, sneakers or ankle boots in a box about 1 to 1.3 kg. Two boxed pairs in one parcel are about 2.2 kg. Weigh your own packed pair; the price follows the scale, not the style.
United States (economy 6–12 working days / standard 5–8 working days): 0.6 kg USD 14.32 / 18.65. 0.8 kg USD 16.68 / 22.48. 1 kg USD 20.33 / 25.86. 1.3 kg USD 25.80 / 31.46. 2.2 kg USD 39.91 / 46.64.
United Kingdom (economy 6–10 working days / priority 3–5 working days): 0.6 kg GBP 5.67 / 6.15. 0.8 kg GBP 6.85 / 7.48. 1 kg GBP 8.02 / 8.81. 1.3 kg GBP 10.08 / 11.40. 2.2 kg GBP 16.32 / 18.31.
Canada (economy 7–9 working days): 0.6 kg CAD 14.85. 0.8 kg CAD 18.13. 1 kg CAD 21.28. 1.3 kg CAD 26.21. 2.2 kg CAD 42.72.
Germany (economy 6–10 working days / standard 5–8 working days): 0.6 kg EUR 7.78 / 9.29. 0.8 kg EUR 9.21 / 11.11. 1 kg EUR 10.65 / 12.92. 1.3 kg EUR 12.81 / 14.59. 2.2 kg EUR 19.28 / 22.32.
Is it cheaper to put two pairs in one parcel?
Only a little, and not everywhere. Two separate 1 kg parcels to the US cost USD 40.66 against USD 39.91 for one 2.2 kg parcel, a saving of USD 0.75. To Germany the saving is about EUR 2. To the UK and Canada one combined parcel costs slightly more than two single ones (GBP 16.32 against GBP 16.04, CAD 42.72 against CAD 42.56), because the per-kilogram rate does more of the work than the per-parcel fee at these weights. Combine pairs when the customer ordered them together; there is no reason to hold orders back to combine them.
How can I bring the cost per pair down?
Weight is the lever. On the US economy lane each extra 0.1 kg around 1 kg adds about USD 1.80, so a lighter box, thinner tissue or a dust bag instead of a box for sandals shows up directly in the price. Keep the branded box where it matters to the customer, and drop the extra outer carton if the shoe box can travel on its own with a label.
How does this compare with shipping from Australia?
Three Australian footwear brands we checked in November 2026 charge international customers between AUD 25 and AUD 45 for a single order below their free-shipping threshold, or about USD 40 on sale items, by Australia Post or DHL Express, and all three leave import duty to the customer. Those are prices to the customer, not the brands' own carrier costs. The useful comparison is your own carrier invoice for one boxed pair against the figures above, plus what it costs to move stock from the factory to Australia first.
What is not in these prices?
China warehouse handling (receiving, storage, pick and pack) is confirmed on the formal quote. Import duty and tax are separate from logistics: the US suspended its duty-free de minimis exemption on 29 August 2025, the UK charges VAT on low-value imports, and the EU added a EUR 3 duty on low-value parcels in July 2026 and a EUR 2 handling fee per declared line from 1 November 2026. Light-up or battery-powered shoes use battery lanes and are confirmed per product.
How do I get a price for my own pairs?
Use the calculator on the route page for each country: enter the packed weight, the box size and general goods, and it shows every China-direct lane with its transit time. The figures are reference prices from the published cards; the formal quote takes precedence and adds warehouse handling.
