Do Australian swimwear brands ship internationally? 24 surveyed

How did we run the survey?

Between 17 and 19 October 2026 we read the shipping and FAQ pages of 24 Australian swimwear labels, from small founder-run brands to established names with several thousand reviews. We recorded where international orders ship from, the published price for a standard order to the US, the UK and other markets, delivery windows, and whether duties are included. We only used what each brand publishes on its own website, and we do not name the brands: the point is the pattern, not any one label. A published shipping price is what the customer pays; a brand may charge less than its real cost, so the numbers describe the customer experience rather than the brand's margin.

Where do Australian swimwear brands ship international orders from?

Twenty of the 24 labels ship every international order from Australia. Four have moved at least part of their international stock offshore: two hold stock in a US warehouse for North American orders, one ships worldwide from a warehouse in Singapore, and one sends made-to-order pieces from its studio in Bali. Two of them advertise the shortest delivery windows to the US in the group: three to five days from the US warehouse and four to seven days from Singapore.

What does a standard order to the US cost the customer?

Thirteen labels publish a price for a standard international order. Among those quoting in US dollars, the most common standard rate to the US is USD 15, with a range of about USD 5 to 25 for brands shipping from Australia (one varies the rate by order value) and as low as USD 7.95 for the brand shipping from a US warehouse. Brands quoting a single flat international rate in Australian dollars charge AUD 19 to 30, and one quotes AUD 50 for DHL express.

And to the UK and Europe?

Five labels publish a UK price: GBP 10 to 20 for a standard order, most commonly GBP 15. European rates, where published, sit around EUR 10 to 15, or fall into the flat international rate. Delivery windows to the UK and Europe range from five working days by courier to 15 to 28 working days on the cheapest postal options.

How many brands do not publish an international price?

Eleven of the 24 do not show an international shipping price on their website: the price appears only at checkout, the customer is asked to get in touch, or international orders go through a separate store. For a shopper comparing brands, that is one more reason to leave before checkout.

Who includes duties at checkout?

Only three labels say duties and taxes are included for the US or the UK, usually through a courier's delivered-duty-paid service. Everyone else either says duties are the customer's responsibility or does not mention them. Since the US ended its duty-free threshold for low-value parcels, an unexpected duty bill is the most common reason an international order turns into a complaint.

What would the same parcel cost from a China warehouse?

Most of these labels manufacture in China, so their international orders travel from the factory to Australia and then out again. Shipped directly from a China warehouse on an apparel lane, a 0.25 kg swimwear parcel costs about USD 7.77 to the US (6 to 12 working days), GBP 3.50 to the UK (4 to 6 working days), CAD 9.04 to Canada and EUR 5.23 to Germany, fuel included. Duties are handled separately, as they are from Australia. On a USD 15 to 25 customer price, that is the difference between charging for international shipping and being able to offer it free above a threshold.

What should you take from this for your own store?

Publish your international price on your shipping page, even if it is a range, because eleven of your competitors do not. Say clearly whether duties are included. If more than about one order in ten goes overseas, price the alternative: keep part of each production run in a China warehouse for international orders and leave Australian stock where it is. Send us the packed weight of your best-selling set and your monthly international orders, and we will put the two options side by side.
