Review service conditions before booking
Review these conditions before requesting a quote to avoid delays and unexpected charges.
What can ship
The general-goods service does not accept standalone batteries, liquids, powders, weapons, ammunition, or unauthorised brands and infringing goods. Battery lanes can take built-in and accompanying batteries.
Select lanes stop at 3 kg and do not take food, controlled knives, liquids, powders, raw wood or dangerous goods. China direct is billed on actual weight.
One piece per shipment. Minimum 10×15 cm. Standard size is up to 59×49×39 cm and 20 kg. Up to 105 cm on the longest side and 147 cm length + width + height, an oversize fee of RMB 150 (about AUD 31.91) applies. Larger parcels need a separate quote.
Lane exclusions
No outer islands, Amazon warehouse addresses or military addresses. Parcels are not returned from Australia to China.
Insurance
General goods, apparel and battery lanes can be insured at 0.7%, with a minimum of AUD 1.06.
Signature
These China lanes do not offer a signature service.
Claims and returns
File within 60 days of dispatch, and within 30 days of a confirmed loss. An investigation comes first.
Damage in transit, delay, a wrong address, refusal and a missed collection are not compensated. Infringement and prohibited goods are not compensated, and the freight is not refunded.
After a return to the Australia warehouse, redelivery can be chosen within 14 days. After that the parcel is destroyed. General economy and battery economy do not add a return fee.
Shared conditions
Freight includes fuel. Declare the real product name and value, and declare each item separately. The same recipient and address cannot exceed USD 600 in declared value on the same day.
On Select, declared value of AUD 1,000 or more adds GST at 10% of the declared value, paid by the sender. Taxes and fines from under-declaration are paid by the sender.
The recipient name should not include a company suffix. Delivery follows the Australia postcode zones. Where an oversize or irregular parcel can move, the extra charge is AUD 31.91.
China direct uses actual weight and does not use volumetric weight. General goods and battery below 0.05 kg are billed at 0.05 kg.
Frequently asked questions
Questions before you ask for a quote
These answers apply to the China-to-Australia route.
How is chargeable weight calculated?
China direct uses actual weight and does not use volumetric weight. Sydney economy uses actual weight. Sydney standard and express use actual weight up to 3 kg. Above 3 kg they take the greater of actual weight and length × width × height / 4000.
Can orders ship from an Australian warehouse?
Yes, when the SKU has stock in Sydney. An order without Sydney stock leaves China. These are two journeys, not one combined price.
Are duty and GST included?
No. The figure shown is freight. Australian duty and GST depend on the goods, declared value, origin and rules in force. Applicable amounts are borne by the sender; ShopRest can coordinate payment or advance payment on supported routes. The formal quote lists tax and service fees separately.
What information is needed for a quote?
Cargo, packed dimensions, actual weight and the destination postcode. We then confirm the weight band and Sydney zone. The reference rate dated 7 October 2026 is 1 AUD = 4.70 RMB; a formal quote follows the reference live rate.
